Yesterday the reporter learnt from municipal transport bureau that 2019 Nantong port cargo throughput was 336.204 million tons, which was 25.9% more, over 300 million tons. Mineral construction materials’ increase is leading, 133.573 million tons was completed, which was 107.1%; coal remains to be the second most type of mineral cargo, the throughput was 67.736 million tons, which was 11.6%; fossil oil, natural gas and its products throughput was 23.017 million tons, which was 10.5% more; throughput of cement was 21.412 million tons, which was 16.4% more. The increase of the four main types of cargo created a solid found for the total throughput to exceed 3 million tons.

It is said that Tonghai port is the 1st port on the north bank when ships enter 12.5m deep water channel in the Yangtze River. According to planning, in 2022 the container throughput of Nantong Tonghai port will reach 2 million containers.
