On 29 June, Lvsi harbour ‘2+2’ port project, Tongyang line Tonglv canal section channel improvement project, Tongzhou bay new estuary phase 1 project were started at the same time. It is a sign that Tongzhou bay Jiangsu new estuary project has entered actual construction stage. According to the plan, it will be open and operated by the end of next year.

Nantong used ‘large Tongzhou Bay’ idea to integrate harbour resources, confirmed Lvsi harbour as the start port of Tongzhou bay new estuary. Lvsi harbour ‘2+2’ port project includes 4 100 thousand tons general berths (2 of them with container function) and supporting land facilities, the total investment is 4.6 billion Yuan, it is estimated to be built and operated in the end of next year and the new estuary harbour will be open; Tongyang line Tonglv canal channel improvement project will be built according to grade three channel standard, the total investment is 2.8 billion Yuan, it will be able to serve new estuary major projects shipping by the end of next year; Tongzhou bay new estuary phase 1 project has a total investment of 1.08 billion Yuan, after completion it will be a transport passage for 100 to 200 thousand tons containers and bulk cargo of the main harbour, it will be completed in next September.
