Nantong University Xinglin College and Jiangsu College of Engineering and Technology will be combined to a provincial public undergraduate university.

Nantong University Xinglin College is an undergraduate independent college approved by Ministry of Education. The college was founded in February 1999. Its predecessor is Nantong medical college Xinglin College. In May 2004 when Nantong medical college, Nantong engineering college and Nantong normal college were combined to form Nantong University, the college’s name was changed to Nantong University Xinglin College.

Jiangsu College of Engineering and Technology is a provincial public full time general vocational college. Approved by Ministry of Education in 1999, the college was upgraded to ‘Nantong Textile Vocational Technology College’. In May 2014, approved by Jiangsu government and filed by Ministry of Education, the school’s name was changed to Jiangsu College of Engineering and Technology.
