Illegal setting off fireworks will be fined 100 to 500 Yuan

On 7 January, Nantong information office held press conference to help citizens get to know fireworks new policy better. Since 30 January, fireworks prohibition in the city will be expanded to 5 districts of more than 1100 square kilometers. Fireworks are prohibited over the year. Illegal setting off fireworks will be fined 100 to 500 Yuan.

Director of municipal fireworks management leading group office, and grade two senior sheriff of municipal public security bureau Du Songhua introduced the previous policy was to prohibit fireworks only in Hao river scenic spot and Langshan mountain scenic spot over the year, the other areas in the city were limited area, and Chinese New Year’s Eve to 5th day of first lunar month was not in limited setting off period. After the adjustment, the prohibition area will be expanded to 5 districts, which connect each other and form a closed ring. The area is about 1154.6 square kilometers.
