On 24 January, Nantong Bureau of Statistics and National Bureau of Statistics Nantong investigation team published 2021 Nantong economy ‘transcript’: after preliminary accounting, the annual GDP of the city is 1.10269 trillion Yuan, calculated at comparable prices, there is an increase of 8.9%, the growth rate is 0.8 and 0.3 per cent more than that of the state and the province respectively, the average increase of the last two years is 6.8%.

In the aspect of industries, the added value of primary industry is 48.5 billion Yuan, there is an increase of 4.5%, the average growth of the last two years is 3.5%; the added value of secondary industry is 535.79 billion Yuan, there is an increase of 9.8%, the average growth of the last two years is 7.1%; the added value of tertiary industry is 518.4 billion Yuan, there is an increase of 8.3%, the average growth of the past two years is 6.7%.
