At 3:40 am 13 February, a China-Europe Railway Express fully loaded with export cargo set off from Nantong Hai’an railway logistics base slowly, heading off to Hanoi, Vietnam which is thousands of miles away. It is the first China-Europe Railway Express in the year of the tiger setting off from the Yangtze River delta to ASEAN area.
The train was loaded with in total 38 containers. The cargo included PVC resins, PVC processing aid, and carpets etc. The ratio of cargo produced by local companies is over 90%, which reflects the vigorous vitality of an export-oriented economy of our city. After China-Europe Railway Express (Hai’an - ASEAN) was included in railway train diagram officially, normal operation with fixed location, fixed line, fixed train service, fixed time and fixed price was realized. In the present, there is one train every week. It is expected to reach Pingxiang border port in Guangxi in 72 hours, and reach Hanoi of Vietnam after about 5 to 7 days, which is close to half of the time less than shipping, which provides a more efficient and steadier logistics way for foreign trade companies in the Yangtze River delta and riverside and coastal areas.
