Nantong and Zvezdara became sister cities

On 9 September, witnessed by Embassy of China in the Republic of Serbia, Nantong and Zvezdara district of Belgrade, Serbia became sister cities officially by signing the agreement via video conference. Both parties will carry out multiple types of communication and cooperation in various aspects including economic trade and technology, culture and tourism, sports and health, youth, education and environmental protection, to promote mutual development and prosperity. Up to now, the number of international sister cities of Nantong has reached 27. They are distributed in 17 countries and areas in the five continents.

Serbia is the first country in central and eastern Europe which established comprehensive strategic partnership with China, and also an active participant and significant contributor of ‘One Belt and One Road’ initiative of China. Since Nantong and Zvezdara district of Serbia signed letter of intent for friendly cooperation in 2017, both parties have increased and upgraded communication and cooperation, sent 5 batch of delegation groups to visit each other. Nantong No.2 Middle School and Belgrade No.6 academic high school became international sister schools.
