In terms of pattern of payment, digital currency payment system has no difference with wechat or Alipay. All of them are very convenient and fast.

In the past few years, as technologies including artificial intelligence, big data, cloud storage, and Block chain are developing fast, the People’s Bank of China started to explore digital form of legal currency, digital yuan was born in time.

Digital currency has come to Nantong for more than 3 months. According to incomplete statistics, up to now, 520 thousand digital currency wallets have been open in Nantong. There have been in total 972.4 transactions including consumption, transfer, cash in and cash out. The total amount reaches 543 million yuan. Digital yuan has entered our life silently.

On 6 April, the reporter went to Aeon Mall, several shops have had digital currency payment system. ‘In terms of pattern of payment, it has no difference with wechat or Alipay. All of them are very convenient and fast.’ Ms. Wu, who just purchased using digital yuan told the reporter.

‘Up to now, more than 80 shops in the mall have installed digital yuan payment system.’ Tang Ying, finance manager of the mall said that as it could achieve instant settlement after payment, not only money was ‘received in one second’, but also there was no commission charge during the transaction, and there was no large difference in operation procedure with wechat or Alipay, the merchants were passionate about installation.

Up to end of March, more than 10 thousand shops have installed digital yuan payment system in Nantong, including salary payment, public payment, education and medical service, retail, transport, catering and hotel.
