On the evening of 4th December, at the terminal of Cargill, a rescue operation racing against time was carried out. On ‘Capricorn’, a Marshall Islands cargo ship, an Indian crew member suddenly had an eye disease, could not see clearly with his left eye, and needed urgent care. After Nantong Entry-Exit Immigration Inspection Station Command Center received the crew’s request for help, they activated emergency rescue response mechanism quickly, and dispatched nearby patrol police to carry out emergency rescue.
After arriving at the site, the police immediately checked the sick crew member for evidence, and contacted other police officers to process temporary entry permit procedures for the sick crew member, striving for every second of treatment time.
With the joint efforts of everyone, the sick crew member was transported to a police car to the Emergency Center of Nantong First People’s Hospital. After preliminary diagnosis, the injured person is suspected to have suffered ruptured blood vessels in eye tissue caused by high intraocular pressure. Thanks to timely rescue, the risk of blindness was averted.
