On 11th April, walking into the Bayer Consumer Health Qidong Supply Center New Plant project site, it was a hive of activity where construction was carried out in order.
Qidong Bayer Consumer Health project is a 2025 Jiangsu Major Project. The total planned investment is 750 million yuan. The planned land area is 100 mu. The gross floor area is about 53 thousand square meters. Among them, phase 1 covers an area of about 76 mu. A modern multi-functional supply center including solid dosage production workshops, laboratories, warehousing and public engineering facilities will be built. After the project is completed, it can produce 1.4 billion tablets of various oral solid preparations per year.
Bayer, the Fortune Global 500 enterprise whose headquarters are located in Germany, has been connected with Qidong since 2008. Bayer Health Qidong branch located on Minyue Road in downtown Qidong mainly works on production of pharmaceutical oral solid preparations and oral liquid preparations. Its products such as White & Black, Talcid, Elevit, Claritin, and Canesten are well-known and trusted by customers. In May 2024, Bayer Consumer Health Industrial Base project officially settled. The brand new Qidong supply center will further expand its production capacity, and become an important part of Bayer’s global product supply network.
Qi Wenming, the person in charge of the users team of Bayer Consumer Health Qidong Supply Center New Plant project, said that in the past few years, Qidong has continued to optimize business environment, to create a broader development space for the thriving growth of Bayer Consumer Health. Bayer has effectively benefited from the policy dividends of investing and doing business in Qidong. Because of this, the company has decided to integrate the current resources in the region, strive to build a future supply center, and take root in Qidong for long-term development.
‘Phase 1 project of the new plant will take over the production tasks of the existing Qidong factory. In the future, some products to be exported to places such as Europe are expected to be introduced into the new plant, to further unleash the production capacity advantages of the new plant.’ Qi Wenming introduced.
