On 11th July, Wu Xinming, Secretary of CPC Nantong Committee, met with Marc Horn, Executive Vice President of Merck Group and President of Merck China, and his delegation.

Wu Xinming welcomed the arrival of Marc Horn and his delegation, and expressed gratitude for the contributions made by Merck Group to the development of Nantong. Wu Xinming said that Merck Group is an ‘old friend’ of Nantong. It has been deeply rooted in Nantong in the past more than ten years, and has invested and implemented a batch of high-quality projects. He hopes that Merck will continue to leverage its strengths, focus on fields including medicine, health, and life sciences, transfer and commercialize more technological achievements to Nantong, and deploy more industrial projects, to further expand and improve the Nantong base. Nantong will continue to create first-class business environment, work together with the enterprises to achieve higher level of mutual benefits.

Marc Horn thanked Nantong governments at all levels for the care and support for the development of Merck Group. He said that Nantong has always been a key area for Merck’s investment in China. The cooperation between the two sides has been smooth and has great potential. Merck will maintain its confidence in development, continue to optimize its investment layout in Nantong, continuously increase research and development investment and market expansion efforts, more actively participate in the construction of industrial chain, supply chain and innovation chain, to better serve Nantong's high-quality development.
