On 1 April morning, innovation and development conference was held in Nantong, to plan the ‘fourteenth five year plan’ technological innovation and development and building of science and technology innovation belt along the Yangtze River.

Since the start of this year, technology and innovation committee was founded in Nantong, and a series of documents were published including suggestions about building higher level innovative city and implementation comments on Nantong technology and innovation belt along the Yangtze River.

Secretary of CPC Nantong Committee Xu Huimin said that innovation is a cluster system with enterprises as principal parts, guided by government and includes universities, technological research institutes and various types of agencies and service organizations. It integrates various types of innovative elements such as talent, technology, information, fund and carrier platform, depends on and evolves with the industry.

Xu Huimin emphasized that enterprises, universities and various types of scientific and technological research institutes, CPC Committees and government are all builders of innovation system, and also beneficiaries of innovation system. Entrepreneurs shall use innovation as a major tool, work hard to make enterprises powerful innovative organizations. Universities and various types of scientific research institutes are sources of talents and technology in innovation system. The integration of courses, research and development of industries in Nantong shall be improved. More papers shall be composed in Nantong, in workshops in factories, based on new technology and new products. CPC Nantong Committee and Nantong government are builders of policy and legal environment of innovation system. ‘30 clauses of scientific and technological innovation’ shall be implemented and supports for innovation shall be increased.
