On 30 March, new flight Nantong-Mianyang-Lhasa was launched at Nantong airport. It starts from Nantong, transfers at Mianyang Sichuan and reaches Lhasa Gonggar Airport, Tibet after about more than 6 hours.

The travel distance from Nantong to Lhasa is more than 4000 km. In the past, people rely on trains and cars to travel from Nantong to Lhasa. The journey takes at least about 48 hours. Flight to Lhasa is flown by Tibet Airlines. There is one flight on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The flight number is TV9821/9822. The aircraft is Airbus A319 which is suitable for plateau airlines.
