A few days ago South Africa boy Alex went to immigration hall of Rugao public security bureau, received reunion residence permit which he had expected for a long time. Just got married, he sent wedding candies to police working in immigration hall together with his partner, and thanked the police for their help.

Alex is from South Africa. He has worked and stayed in China for more than 3 years. He and Rugao girl Meng (alias) met in 2018, and fell in love. However, when they decided to return to South Africa to apply for marriage certificate, they were not able to go due to Covid-19 epidemic. Without marriage certificate, Alex could not apply for reunion residence permit, he would not be able to stay in China. If they choose to apply for marriage certificate in China, he needed to submit single certificate issued by South Africa, but once Alex went to South Africa, he would not likely be allowed to go back to China under the situation of the epidemic.

After Rugao police got to know their condition, they applied to superior departments, and gave Alex a residence permit valid for 30 days, which gave them time to apply for marriage certificate. Luckily, a few days before his permit expire, Meng’s friend in South Africa got single certificate for Alex successfully, and they applied for marriage certificate successfully.
