It’s getting warmer, willow catkins are flying in Nantong. Director of respiratory medicine of Nantong first people’s hospital Lv Xuedong reminded that: allergic people shall protect themselves.

Lv Xuedong introduced that every spring is the high occurrence period of allergic diseases, willow catkins spread pollen while flying, if allergic people have contact with pollen or have nasal cavity inhalation, respiratory, conjunctiva, cutaneous allergic diseases can be triggered.

Lv Xuedong suggested that allergic people shall not go to places with willows, and when willow catkins stick to the skin, it should be cleaned in time, warm water shall be used to wash face. Allergic rhinitis patients or people who are allergic to pollen or willow catkin, shall clean their nasal cavity every day, while participating outdoor activities, it is better to choose the time when willow catkin index is small, and do not open the windows for long time in willow catkins season.

He also reminded that once allergy happens, people shall eat less spicy food, more fruit, and some vitamin C, if the disease is not alleviated effectively, people shall go to hospital for treatment.
