On 22nd November, the concrete casting work of pile caps of the south main towers of the south channel bridge of Zhang-Jing-Gao Yangtze River Bridge was completed. So far, the foundation construction of the main towers of the bridge has been completed successfully. The bridge entered a new phase of ‘height increase’.
Since the first steel casing was driven in the Yangtze River on 26th August 2022, the construction team completed the construction of 97 steel casings in 85 days, 97 ultra large bored piles in 109 days, under water bottom sealing in 132 days, and the pile caps in 85 days. In more than 14 months, about 130 thousand cubic meters of concrete of various types has been cast, and about 30 thousand tons of steel products of various types have been used. About 40 thousand cubic meters of sediment has been dredged. The average daily transportation volume has reached 500 tons, which is equivalent to 20 heavy trucks shuttling back and forth every day.
Zhang-Jing-Gao Yangtze River Bridge has the largest span in the world among bridges under construction now.
