On 22nd November, 2023 academician supplementary election results of the two academies were revealed. 59 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and 74 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering were newly elected. Ji Xunming and Zhou Chuangbing, scientists from Nantong, were elected as academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Ji Xunming, who was born in Hai’an in December 1970, is a neurosurgery expert who works on prevention and treatment of cerebral apoplexy and research on translational medicine, and has taken more than 20 national and provincial projects including National Key Research and Development Programs, 973 Project, 863 Project, and National Natural Science Foundation projects.

Zhou Chuangbing, who was born in Qidong in November 1962, is a hydraulic and rock mechanics expert. He works as a professor and PHD supervisor of Nanchang University. Zhou Chuangbing’s research field is hydraulic and rock mechanics.
