On 12th December morning, Wang Zuhong who was going to Zhuhai, became the No. 3.5 million passenger of Nantong Airport this year. It was the first time that the annual passenger throughput exceeded 3.5 million in the past 30 years since Nantong Airport opened to air traffic.
Wang Zuhong said, ‘I took planes from Shanghai since I started to do business in 1985. After Nantong Airport opened, I started to enjoy the convenience of taking planes at doorstep.’ He added, ‘flights and passengers in Nantong Airport have been increasing. In the future it will have better development definitely.’
Passenger throughput is a major indicator to measure the level of an airport. In 2015, the annual passenger throughput of Nantong Airport exceeded 1 million for the first time; in 2017, the annual passenger throughput reached 2 million; in 2019, the annual passenger throughput exceeded 3 million, and reached 3.486 million; this year it exceeded 3.5 million, and is expected to reach 3.6 million.
