Guests from 152 countries, regions and international organizations gathered at the China International Import Expo. Many globally famous companies arrived as scheduled, bringing the latest technological achievements. Among them, many well-known and familiar companies have established ties with Nantong.

Bayer has brought many innovative products in healthcare and agricultural technology, including 5 products launched and exhibited for the first time in China, and 5 products exhibited for the first time at the CIIE. Apart from that, many of its star products are produced by the plant in Qidong, Nantong. ‘Products from the familiar maternal and infant brands such as Elevit, Daxi, Canesten, and Baijiahei, are from the plant in Qidong, Nantong. These products have a good reputation and the sales are very impressive.’

In 2007, Bayer Healthcare established its Qidong branch in Qidong, Nantong, which works on pharmaceutical manufacturing and consumer health products research and development. In October, Bayer Consumer Health Qidong Supply Center new plant project started construction. The project will be equipped with advanced production lines, labs, and storage facilities. It is expected to be completed in 2026 and put into operation in 2028. It is expected to become one of Bayer’s most modern and sustainable supply centers in the world.

Toray is a globally famous high-tech multinational company. It has invested and established 5 companies in Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area. It has engaged in related business for nearly 30 years. The total investment has exceeded 1.2 billion US dollars. The fiber textiles exhibited in the CIIE this time, are related to Nantong.

Scania which appeared in the CIIE for the second time, is one of the leading heavy truck and bus manufacturers in the world. It mainly manufactures heavy truck, industrial and marine engines, buses and bus chassis. At present, the more than 800,000 square meters Scania Rugao Production Base project is under construction in an orderly manner. It is expected to be completed by the end of this year and start production in 2025.

Amanda Liu, Director of Communications, Industrial Operations, Asia of Scania, said that Nantong has excellent location advantages and business environment. Scania is actively implementing advanced environmental protection practices. It also works closely with suppliers, to ensure that the sustainable development goals of the Rugao plant extend to the entire supply chain.
