Recently, as the certificate of the U.S. Green Building Council was officially awarded, Jiangsu Situ Global Fixture Co., Ltd. located in Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone won LEED Platinum with outstanding environmental protection performances, which filled the gap of Nantong industrial plants in the highest level of global green certification system. The certification marked an important breakthrough of Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone in green smart manufacturing field.
LEED certification, which is honored as the ‘Oscar’ of green building, has established strict evaluation standards in seven major dimensions including sustainable places, water resource usage, and energy environment. Data shows that only 8% of the certified plant projects in the world has reached the platinum level.
This time, Jiangsu Situ Global Fixture not only was shortlisted in the top 8% of the projects in the world with its comprehensive score, and became the first plant with Platinum certification, but also set new benchmarks in key indicators: the water-saving system of the plant achieved a water-saving efficiency of 59.23%, far exceeding the industry standard; the electricity saving rate is 32.37%, and the annual carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by 925 tons; the waste recycling rate is as high as 81.9%.
