On 6 June, major cooperative matters signing ceremony was held at 2020 Yangtze River delta main cadres forum in Huzhou, Zhejiang. Tongzhou bay new estuary building strategic cooperation frame agreement and Nantong new airport cooperation agreement were signed on the conference. Mayor Wang Hui signed on behalf of Nantong government.

According to the agreement, Shanghai commission of transport and Shanghai international port group will implement Yangtze river delta integrated development, support and participate in building and development of Tongzhou bay new estuary in aspects including planning, investment, construction, operation and management, help Tongzhou bay new estuary become a major developed harbour of north wing of Shanghai international shipping center; Jiangsu transport department and Jiangsu port group will base on implementation of Yangtze River delta integrated development strategy, support Tongzhou bay new estuary building.

Nantong new airport, as an important part of Shanghai international air hub, will form main hub of Shanghai multiple airports system together with Pudong airport and Hongqiao airport, will be planned, built, operated and managed together with Pudong airport and Hongqiao airport. In the future, according to the requirements in the agreement between Shanghai and Nantong, they will try to make it available for operation by the end of ‘the fourteenth five year plan’.
