A few days ago, secretary of CPC Jiangsu Committee Lou Qinjian came to Nantong, to investigate the development of Nantong in coastal area.

Based on the new era and look into the future, how shall coastal area of Jiangsu develop? From harbour to interior area, from city to village, from ecological environment to transport infrastructures, from cultural tourism to industrial projects, Lou Qinjian went to Qidong, Haimen, Tongzhou, Rudong, and Hai’an along the coastline to investigate the resources and development conditions on spot.

Nantong is close to Yangtze River and the sea. Tongzhou bay is the new estuary which our province supports strongly. Lou Qinjian said that building the new estuary is an important measure of implementation of national strategies including ‘the Belt and Road’ building, Yangtze River economic belt development and Yangtze River integrated development, we shall plan and integrate the current port resources and protect coastline resources, investigate major projects and make Tongzhou bay a new engine of riverside and coastal integrated development.

In the investigation, Lou Qinjian acknowledged the active change of Nantong in promotion of coastal development. He pointed out that Jiangsu has long coastline and ample resources in coastal area, systematic planning of promotion of Jiangsu coastal area development shall be carried out from the new starting point. Attractive ecological belt, scenery belt and economic belt with high quality development shall be built.
