On 23 December 2021, Nantong held foreign experts New Year social event. 17 foreign expert representatives who have made significant contributions to economic and social development of Nantong were invited to the event.

Nantong is a city which promotes culture and education, recruits and pays attention to talents. This year overseas high level talent recruitment special subsidy was set up in Nantong. Measures which support foreign talents recruitment were introduced. Foreign talents work permit whole process ‘approval without meeting’ was realized first in Jiangsu. And 2 new provincial ‘foreign experts studios’ were approved. Up to now, more than 500 enterprises recruited more than 1200 various types of foreign experts. Every year over 2000 foreign experts work in Nantong for short term or long term. This year, Nantong was shortlisted in Ministry of Science and Technology ‘Amazing China - the most attractive Chinese cities for foreigners’ as a candidate city.

Deputy mayor Wang Kai expressed gratitude for the contributions made by foreign experts to development of Nantong, representing Nantong government, and delivered New Year greetings. He hoped that more foreign experts could choose Nantong and assimilate into the city, play a positive role in communication and connection, promote Nantong and help Nantong attract more foreign talents. He said that Nantong would provide good services as usual, to let foreign experts work comfortably and stay happily in Nantong, grow together with the city and gain mutual achievements.

Up to now, more than 500 enterprises hire more than 1200 various types of foreign experts. Every year over 2000 foreign experts work for short term or long term in Nantong.
