After the conflict between Russia and Ukraine broke out, withdrawal of Chinese in Ukraine has been affecting people’s emotion. Nantong global chamber of commerce Romanian branch participated in relevant work of withdrawal of Chinese to Romania, guided by Chinese embassy in Romania. According to statistics, the chamber of commerce has placed in total 132 Chinese people in Ukraine successfully. Up to 17 March, apart from the 4 people who were waiting for the plane, all the others had taken the charter flight to China.

Since the break out of the conflict, municipal foreign affairs office and municipal people’s association for friendship with foreign countries have always paid attention to the development of the situation, and have contacted Nantong Chamber of Commerce in Romania which is close to Ukraine actively, guide it to play a role in organization, and provide help for Chinese people in Ukraine when necessary.

After received the proposal from Chinese Embassy in Romania on 1 March, Nantong chamber of commerce in Romania contacted in no time, established ‘aid Ukraine work team’, help the embassy in people’s withdrawal work.

As the security situation in Ukraine got worse, a lot of Ukraine refugees went to Romania, which made booking of hotels very difficult. The chamber of commerce used all means, booked 80 rooms, and rented standby settlement site in Chinese mall in Dobroeşti, equipped with basic daily use articles. Up to 3 March morning, it had assisted in settlement of close to 100 Chinese people. On 7 March, the ‘aid Ukraine work team’ of the chamber of commerce organized a fleet, contacted local buses to send some of the Chinese people from Ukraine to the airport, to take the charter flight home.
