On 25th March, Wu Xinming, Secretary of the CPC Nantong Municipal Committee, met with Christian Levin, CEO of Scania and Traton Group, and his delegation in Rugao.
Wu Xinming welcomed Christian Levin and his delegation, and congratulated on the progress made in the Scania project. He said that the construction and operation of Scania Rugao Production Base would inject strong momentum into the development of Nantong’s automotive industry. He expects that both parties will continue to deepen cooperation on this new starting point.
Christian Levin thanked Nantong for the care and support for the Scania project. He said that Scania was deeply impressed by Nantong’s high-quality and efficient services. The group will strengthen its confidence in developing in Nantong, and make the Rugao Production Base the most advanced and sustainable manufacturing base of Scania in the world, to contribute to the high-quality development of Nantong manufacturing industry.
The Rugao Production Base is the third industrial operations center of Scania in the world after those in Europe and South America. Now the base construction has been completed. Equipment commissioning and verification are currently in progress. It is expected to be officially put into operation in the fourth quarter of this year.
