Checkpoint electronics (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. is a company with Canadian investment. CCL Industries Inc. is a world leading company which produces high end labels. It is a listed company in Toronto, Canada. It has 175 plants in countries including America, Germany, Britain and China. In 2014, Hai’an merchants group got to know that Checkpoint Systems Limited located in Shanghai would be relocated, and they acted immediately to introduce it to Hai’an.

Vice president and general manager of business department of Checkpoint Systems of China region Derek Barclay said that when the company moved from Shanghai to Hai’an, supported by Hai’an economic development zone and Hai’an government, problems encountered in plant construction were solved quickly, and the construction only took 6 months. Most of the employees are from Hai’an.

Influenced by the epidemic, the company’s production capacity increased by 40%. Derek Barclay said that clothing stores were not open and demand for clothing labels dropped, however, most supermarkets were still operating, and additional labels which assured customers on food such as steaks were required, the amount of labels was increased. In 2019, the realized sales of Checkpoint was 87 million Yuan. This March, the sales of the company reached 7 million Yuan.

In the past few years, Checkpoint developed more than 20 local suppliers. Derek Barclay said that this year the company will build one more plant in Hai’an, the main products are electronic products and automobile industry.
